Few Hours After Work

After a great weekend of fishing Jeff and I decided to get out locally on Monday for a few hours after work. The river was crowded but after a long walk to some more remote runs we found solitude....and fish. I hooked up right off the bat on a skip at the tailout of the run.

At the top of the run a few minutes later Jeff hooked a much better fish. She gave a him a great fight and I was able to tail her after several minutes. Needless to say the higher water of the previous week brought in some bright new fish.

With not alot of time left we moved into the next run downstream to finish out our night and it didn't let us down. At the top of the run I switched to a prince nymph dropper and quickly hooked up with a pair of skips which we were able to land pretty quickly. A few casts later and I tied into a better fish. After a couple summersaults and a long run down around the corner Jeff was able to tail this pretty hen.

That wrapped up our night.....not bad for a couple hours after work. Two nice fat hens and a three scrappy skips!
